I'm incapable of logging in to upload or download my save data so I fail to see how the first advertised feature would work:
• All Heroes Purchased/Unlocked (they will permanently save into your account, too)

I can't save the unlocked characters to my account if I'm unable to upload the save data.

What it means is that if you install the original version on top of the mod (on next game update), you won't lose your characters as you won't lose your game progresses.

Is there no way I could force install one over the other without uninstalling?
That way the save data persists & I could essentially swap between the two, on yours for general play then over to the original so I could use the cloud save feature?

Try downloading the current apk (original version) from sites like apkpure and see if it installs. If it doesn't work, you should try this on next game update.

I tried to go back to an older version (4.1.0) of the game from APKpure and then install the modded apk as an update but I simply get;
"App not installed as package conflicts with an existing package."

But if I attempt to install the legitimate 4.1.3 as an update to the existing 4.1.0 install it works perfectly.
So I guess my question is; Is there some way on android to bypass the "App not installed as package conflicts with existing package." error.
I'm happy to do anything even if I have to edit an APK in some capacity or use adb commands to force the install.

This is called signature verification, and can be disabled only by root or by installing a newer version on top of an apk.

Right, so is there a way for me to trick the device into thinking the modded APK is a newer version of the same app?
I would typically root but it's not possible on my current device.

You should actually do the opposite, as you'd have to use the original version in order to save your progresses, not the mod one.

The steps should be:

Install the mod, install the original version on top of the mod and then save your data but, in order to do this, you need an original version which has to be higher than the current mod version.

The problem I'm having is that I have some items on my original save that you haven't added to the mod yet (certain blueprints), so I was trying to essentially download my current save to the device from an unmodded version, then swap to your version, apply what I needed, then swap back to an unmodded version to upload the save.

I guess I'll just have to play around with it.
Worst case scenario I suppose is setting an emulator up with root & bypassing signature verification on that for my purposes.

Okay, so after buying pro so I could use the APK on an extra device I have managed to swap between versions with no issue.
Here is the problem, on an Emulator I can't get the menu to show up even after allowing it to display over other apps in the settings.

Any ideas Benny?

I tested it on an emulator called "Nox App Player" and it works without issues. Maybe you could give it a try, too. It should work :) I'm specifically using Nox v6.6.0.1 and Android 5. Hope it helps.

I downloaded the MOD1 version and it said that the application can not be installed. I already uninstalled the original game before installing the mod.

Try reading the notes in the Installation Instructions about using Virtual Android.

No worries, you won't feel the need of MOD 2 before you play for at least a couple weeks, so you can enjoy MOD 1 for the moment :p
